Product Overview:
MILLIPLEX® MAP Canine Kidney Toxicity Magnetic Bead Panel 1, containing 3 biomarkers to be used with urine samples. The kit contains enough material to analyze 38 samples in duplicate, including the standard curve and two quality controls.
Background Information:
Toxicity is the leading cause of drug failure, so research is expanding in search of more sensitive, rapid methods to determine organ-specific damage as quickly as possible. The traditional tests to determine drug-induced damage to kidney cells, or renal toxicity, have been to measure blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (SCr). These two tests only detect kidney damage a week after it begins and do not show where in the kidney the damage has occurred.
