Rapid Cell Proliferation Kit
Assay measures the increased activity of cellular mitochondrial dehydrogenases that can cleave the tetrazolium dye WST-1 to formazan. The formazan formation is then quantified by measuring the change in absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader. The activity of mitochondrial dehydrogenases is proportional to cell number. No washing, harvesting, or solubilization steps are required.

Ultrasensitive Cell Proliferation Assay Kit, Fluorogenic
A highly sensitive, reliable cell proliferation assay utilizing Calcein-AM, a fluorescent probe for staining viable cells (Ex.: ~485 nm; Em.: ~520 nm). For optimal results serum-free media or Dulbecco’s PBS is recommended. Endogenous esterases in serum can lead to increased blank values which can be subtracted out. Extremely useful for cytotoxicity assays.

The assay is based on the extracellular reduction of XTT by NADH produced in the mitochondria via trans-plasma membrane electron transport and an electron mediator.2↗ Reduction of XTT produces a water-soluble formazan which dissolves directly into the culture medium, eliminating the need for an additional solubilization step. This kit will allow investigators to screen drug candidates involved in cell cycle regulation.
