Background Information:
CBFA2T3 or core-binding factor, runt domain, alpha subunit 2 (hMTG16) has been identified as a putitave breast tumor supposor. It functions as a transcriptional repressor that regulates the proliferation and the differentiation of erythroid progenitors by repressing the expression of TAL1 target genes. CBFA2T3 forms a part of the TAL-1 complex along with CBFA2T3, LDB1, TAL1 and TCF3. The protein has been found to interacts with ERBB4, HDAC1, HDAC2, HDAC3, HDAC8, NCOR1, NCOR2, and ZNF652.
