This recombinant protein was expressed from a DNA sequence encoding the N-terminal segment (Met 1-Arg 340) of the influenza hemagglutinin (A/Xinjiang/1/2006 (H5N1)) (ACJ68614.1), termed as HA1, fused to a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus
